Sri Lankan Rupee Ends Lower at 337.00/75 Against the US Dollar, While Bond Yields Remain Stable

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Wednesday, the Sri Lankan rupee concluded trading at 337.00/75 against the US dollar in the spot market, a decline from the previous day’s rate of 335.15/40, according to market dealers.

In terms of telegraphic transfers, the rupee’s buying rate against the US dollar was 330.50, while the selling rate stood at 339.50. For the euro, the selling rate was recorded at 373.3996, with a buying rate of 387.3166. The pound sterling’s buying price was noted at 435.1915, while the selling price reached 449.2371.

Regarding bond yields, a bond set to mature on February 15, 2028, closed at 10.50/60 percent. Meanwhile, a bond maturing on December 15, 2029, saw an increase in its yield, closing at 10.90/11.00 percent, up from the previous 10.80/90 percent. Another bond, due on August 1, 2030, ended at 11.20/25 percent. Additionally, a bond maturing on December 15, 2032, closed at 11.50/55 percent, slightly up from 11.45/55 percent. Lastly, a bond set for maturity on June 15, 2035, closed at 11.65/75 percent.
