Sri Lankan Rupee Holds Steady at 333.00/335.50 Against US Dollar, Bond Yields Remain Unchanged

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Wednesday, the Sri Lankan rupee was valued at 333.00/335.50 against the US dollar in the spot market, a decline from the previous day’s rate of 332.00/333.50, according to market dealers. Meanwhile, bond yields remained largely unchanged.

The telegraphic transfer rates for the Sri Lankan rupee were recorded at 328.50 for buying and 337.50 for selling against the US dollar.

For bonds, the one set to mature on December 15, 2029, was quoted at 11.90/12.05 percent, slightly down from the previous rate of 11.90/12.10 percent. The bond maturing on August 1, 2030, held steady at 12.05/15 percent, while the bond maturing on March 15, 2035, also remained unchanged at 13.05/15 percent.

Additionally, an auction for Treasury bills amounting to 140,000 million rupees was currently in progress. (Colombo/Jun3/2026)
