FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Friday, Sri Lanka’s currency, the rupee, settled at 336.15/25 against the US dollar in the spot market, a slight improvement from the previous day’s rate of 336.25/35. Meanwhile, bond yields experienced minor increases across select maturities, according to market participants.
The telegraphic transfer rates were reported as follows: the dollar was at 331.80 for buying and 340.80 for selling; the euro stood at 377.0476 for buying and 390.9646 for selling; and the pound was priced at 445.8868 for buying and 459.9324 for selling.
In the bond market, a bond that matures on September 15, 2027, increased to 10.35/40 percent from the previous 10.30/40 percent. Conversely, a bond maturing on February 15, 2028, remained unchanged at 10.50/60 percent. A bond maturing on December 15, 2029, saw a slight decrease to 11.10/20 percent from 11.05/20 percent.
Additionally, a bond set to mature on October 15, 2030, rose to 11.60/65 percent from 11.60/63 percent. Lastly, a bond maturing on December 15, 2032, increased to 11.95/12.05 percent, up from 11.90/12.00 percent, while the bond maturing on November 1, 2033, rose to 12.05/10 percent from 12.00/10 percent.
