Sri Lankan Rupee Settles at 336/337 Against the US Dollar, Bond Yields Remain Stable

FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Thursday, Sri Lanka’s currency, the rupee, ended the trading session at a rate of 336.00/337.00 against the US dollar in the spot market, reflecting a decline from the previous day’s rate of 332.25/75, according to market dealers. Meanwhile, bond yields remained relatively stable.

In the telegraphic transfer market, the rupee was quoted at 328.00 for purchases and 337.00 for sales against the US dollar. The selling rate for the euro was 376.4077, with a buying rate of 390.3247, while the pound was priced at 437.9428 for buying and 451.9884 for selling.

For bonds, the one maturing on July 1, 2028, concluded at a yield of 11.75/85 percent. The bond set to mature on December 15, 2029, closed at 12.00/15 percent. A bond maturing on August 1, 2030, saw a decrease in yield, closing at 12.10/25 percent, down from 12.25/40 percent. Conversely, the bond maturing on March 15, 2035, increased slightly, closing at 13.00/30 percent, up from 13.00/20 percent. (Colombo/Jun11/2026)
