FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Tuesday, the Sri Lankan rupee was quoted at 309.55/60 against the US dollar in the spot market, showing an improvement from the previous day’s rate of 309.75/80, despite recent weeks of depreciation, according to traders. Meanwhile, bond yields remained largely stable.
The yield on a bond maturing on December 15, 2028, was quoted at 9.25/30 percent. For the bond maturing on December 15, 2029, the yield was quoted at 9.67/79 percent. A bond with a maturity date of March 15, 2031, had a yield of 9.95/10.00 percent.
The bond maturing on December 15, 2032, was quoted at 10.30/35 percent, reflecting a slight decrease from the previous 10.32/35 percent. Similarly, the bond maturing on June 1, 2033, was quoted at 10.65/70 percent, down from 10.65/78 percent. Lastly, the bond maturing on June 15, 2035, was quoted at 10.95/11.00 percent, a decrease from the prior 10.95/11.02 percent.
