FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Tuesday, the Sri Lankan rupee was valued at 334.65/75 against the US dollar in the spot market, a slight decrease from the previous day’s rate of 334.90/335.00, according to market dealers.
In terms of telegraphic transfers, the exchange rate for the Sri Lankan rupee stood at 330.50 for purchases and 339.50 for sales against the US dollar. The euro was priced at 375.6944 for selling and 389.6114 for buying, while the British pound had rates of 441.8078 for purchases and 455.8534 for sales.
Bond yields showed an upward trend, with a bond maturing on August 1, 2030, quoted at 11.26/33 percent, an increase from the previous 11.23/30 percent. Similarly, a bond set to mature on October 15, 2030, rose to 11.30/35 percent from 11.26/30 percent. The bond maturing on December 15, 2032, was quoted at 11.55/65 percent, up from 11.55/60 percent. A bond due on November 1, 2033, remained unchanged at 11.60/70 percent, while a bond maturing on March 15, 2035, was listed at 11.70/80 percent.
