FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – On Monday, the Sri Lankan rupee was valued at 336.20/30 against the US dollar in the spot market, slightly up from 336.15/25 recorded on Friday, according to market dealers.
The telegraphic transfer rates for the dollar were set at 331.80 for buying and 340.80 for selling. For the euro, the rates were 376.9467 for buying and 390.8637 for selling, while the pound was quoted at 445.4833 for buying and 459.5289 for selling.
In the bond market, several bond maturities were noted with varying yields. A bond set to mature on December 15, 2029, remained unchanged at 11.10/20 percent. A bond maturing on March 1, 2030, was quoted at 11.30/40 percent, while another maturing on May 15, 2030, was listed at 11.40/50 percent. The bond maturing on August 1, 2030, was quoted at 11.55/60 percent, and a bond due on October 15, 2030, was flat at 11.60/65 percent.
Additionally, a bond maturing on December 15, 2032, remained steady at 11.95/12.05 percent, while a bond set for January 15, 2033, was quoted at 11.97/12.15 percent. Lastly, a bond maturing on October 15, 2034, was listed at 12.12/20 percent, and one maturing on July 1, 2037, was quoted at 12.60/70 percent.
