The Sunshine Foundation for Good (SFG), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) division of Sunshine Holdings PLC, has reaffirmed its dedication to education by distributing stationery gift vouchers to school children. This year’s initiative benefited approximately 750 deserving students from schools in Kelaniya, Kadawatha, Rathmalana, Modara, and Mattakkuliya, areas in close proximity to Sunshine Holdings’ operational units.

The program provided vouchers to students from Grade 1 to Grade 11, thus encompassing both primary and secondary education levels. These vouchers are designed to support educational purchases, aligning with the Group’s mission of fostering positive national development and community enhancement.

This effort is part of the education-focused initiatives of the Sunshine Foundation for Good, which aims to empower communities through educational support and by addressing key gaps in access to learning resources. By prioritizing schools near Sunshine Holdings’ business operations, the program underscores the organization’s commitment to the welfare of its immediate communities.

Shyam Sathasivam, the Group CEO of Sunshine Holdings, stated, “Supporting children in our neighboring communities is an investment in Sri Lanka’s future. Through this initiative, we aim to reduce barriers to learning and help every child start the school year with confidence and opportunity, contributing to the long-term goal of building a stronger and better Sri Lanka.”

The distribution programs were organized and managed by the Corporate Communications and CSR Division of Sunshine Holdings, and they took place in the schools of the beneficiaries. These schools include Yashodara P.V (Kelaniya), Dippitigoda R.C.P.V (Kelaniya), Dalupitiya P.V (Kelaniya), Buddhist P.V (Kadawatha), Christ Church V. (Ratmalana), Kothalawalapura M. M. V (Rathmalana), St. John’s V (Modara), and Thotawaththa Methodist College (Colombo North). Members of the Sunshine Leadership team, along with managers and senior executives from Sunshine Holdings, Sunshine Foundation for Good, and its business lines such as Sunshine Healthcare Lanka, Sunshine Tea [Pvt] Ltd., and Sunshine Consumer Lanka, participated in these events, highlighting the Group’s collective commitment to community development.
