FINANCIAL CHRONICLE — The reconstruction initiatives in Sri Lanka are receiving valuable support from Thailand’s private sector and civil society. YWCA Bangkok and Thai Beverage Public Company Limited (ThaiBev) have collectively donated approximately 5 million rupees, equivalent to around 26,000 dollars.
YWCA Bangkok contributed 200,000 Thai baht, while ThaiBev provided a donation of 10,000 US dollars to assist with the Sri Lankan government’s Humanitarian Priorities Plan (HPP).
The donations were officially presented to Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Sri Lanka’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Thailand, at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Bangkok. The YWCA’s contribution was handed over by its President, Lantip Dvadasin, while Chamapan Rangratna, Advisor to the CEO of Corporate Affairs at ThaiBev, delivered the company’s donation.
This initiative aligns with the ongoing collaboration between Thailand and Sri Lanka. Earlier in January 2026, the Royal Thai Government had already extended support through a direct financial grant of 10.2 million rupees aimed at post-cyclone reconstruction efforts.
The Embassy of Sri Lanka expressed its heartfelt appreciation to YWCA Bangkok and Thai Beverage Public Company Limited for their timely and generous assistance during these challenging times.
