FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The U.S. Embassy has announced that Admiral Steve “Web” Koehler, Commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, will visit Sri Lanka from February 19 to 21.
During this visit, Admiral Koehler will meet with Sri Lankan government officials and military counterparts. The discussions will focus on shared values related to advancing cooperation in maritime security, promoting regional stability, and enhancing collaboration and interoperability.
This marks Admiral Koehler’s second visit to Sri Lanka, emphasizing the strategic importance the United States places on the country’s pivotal role at the crossroads of global maritime routes. It also underscores the shared long-term commitment to a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
The U.S. Pacific Fleet, the largest naval fleet command globally, operates across half the globe, fostering connections with partners throughout the Indo-Pacific.
