Malki Madapatha has become the nation’s inaugural female to attain Level 2 Certification as an Infrared Thermographer, a credential awarded by IRISS, USA, a prominent institution in thermography training.
This accomplishment marks a significant step forward for women pursuing careers in engineering and STEM disciplines within Sri Lanka, while simultaneously reinforcing Vibhawa’s status as a frontrunner in advanced infrared thermography and electrical diagnostics.

Notably, it is the sole organization in Sri Lanka that boasts both in-house Level 3 and Level 2 Certified Infrared Thermographers.
Infrared thermography is a predictive maintenance tool utilized to uncover concealed electrical and mechanical problems that are not apparent to the naked eye, thereby preventing potential failures. Madapatha’s certification is a testament to Vibhawa’s dedication to nurturing technical talent through ongoing education, hands-on training, and real-world project involvement. As Assistant Manager of Testing and QA, she has played an instrumental role in various intricate local and international projects, including reliability-based thermography services for prominent hotel chains in the Maldives.
