Sri Lanka, April 27, 2026 – Visa (NYSE: V), a prominent player in the digital payments sector, has officially announced the appointment of Suresh Sethi as the Group Country Manager for India and South Asia. In this capacity, Suresh will oversee Visa’s strategic initiatives and operations within India, as well as neighboring countries including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Maldives, and Bhutan.
Suresh takes over from Sandeep Ghosh, who is departing Visa to pursue other opportunities. He will be based in Mumbai and will report directly to Stephen Karpin, the Regional President for Asia Pacific at Visa.

Suresh Sethi brings a rich background of leadership experience focused on innovation and ecosystem-driven growth across the financial services sector. His professional journey encompasses India as well as significant international markets such as Africa, Latin America, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
Before this role, Suresh was the Managing Director and CEO of Protean e-Gov Technologies Ltd., where he transformed the organization into a nimble, product-oriented Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) entity. He previously served as the Founder CEO of India Post Payments Bank, where he established one of the largest financial inclusion initiatives globally by utilizing the widespread network of India Post to provide banking services directly to customers, thereby greatly enhancing access to formal banking, especially in underserved and rural communities.
Earlier in his career, Suresh held significant positions including Managing Director & CEO of Vodafone M-Pesa India, Group President at YES Bank, and various regional leadership roles at Citigroup, where he managed transaction banking and payments operations across multiple regions.
