WindForce PLC Commissions Rooftop Solar Project at Joy Island, Maldives

WindForce PLC has successfully completed a rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) power project with a capacity of 432.2 kWp at Joy Island in the Maldives, further solidifying its presence in the regional renewable energy sector.

Located at Joy Island in Kassanfushi, Kaafu Atoll, the project was commissioned on December 13, 2025. This milestone followed an Engineering, Procurement, and Commissioning (EPC) contract awarded earlier in the year. WindForce initially entered into the EPC agreement with Joy Resort Pvt Ltd on July 14, 2025, to develop a rooftop solar PV system aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

In response to revised client requirements, the project’s installed capacity was increased from its originally planned level, resulting in a corresponding rise in the total project cost. The final cost of the project is USD 321,000.

According to WindForce PLC, the commissioning of this project aligns with its strategic objective to expand its renewable energy portfolio and support the transition to clean energy across the region, while delivering long-term value to stakeholders.
