XpressJobs has been designated as the Official Recruitment Partner for the Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2026, marking its third consecutive year of involvement in this national skills and career exhibition.
The formal agreement was signed today at the Ministry of Education, reinforcing XpressJobs’ ongoing dedication to this initiative. Key figures in attendance included Mr. Kavinda Dissanayake, Chairman of the Agriculture Sector Skills Council, Brigadier Chanaka Prathapasinghe (Retd.), Head of Academics at the Agrotech Dissemination Centre, along with Mr. Tyner Fernando and Dr. Oshadie Korale, COO of XpressJobs.
The Sri Lanka Skills Expo 2026 is scheduled to occur from October 23 to 25, 2026, at Viharamahadevi Park and Green Path Avenue in Colombo 07, under the theme “Skills for Life.” This fourth edition of the Expo is organized by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, in collaboration with various sector skills councils and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
The event is anticipated to attract over 300,000 visitors, including students, school leavers, skilled workers, training providers, employers, and industry stakeholders. It will feature six strategic areas and more than 200 exhibition spaces, serving as a national platform for skill enhancement, education, training, and employment opportunities.
The primary goal of XpressJobs in this partnership is to connect individuals’ skills with job opportunities. The Skills Expo serves as a convergence point for individuals at various stages of their career paths, from A/L school leavers seeking their first job to experienced professionals in search of new or hybrid roles.
“We understand that skills should lead to tangible opportunities. The Skills Expo unites individuals developing their skills with XpressJobs, which connects them to over 12,000 employers from diverse sectors. Our mission is to bridge that divide and assist individuals in discovering the potential of their skills,” stated Dr. Oshadie Korale, COO of XpressJobs.
Attendees of the Expo will have the chance to explore a variety of opportunities, including jobs for school leavers, skilled positions, internships, trainee roles, and remote work options. XpressJobs has facilitated more than 7 million job applications, linking Sri Lankan talent with employers across numerous industries.
Mr. Kavinda Dissanayake emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating that skills development is increasingly vital in today’s rapidly evolving landscape. “Skills can be lifesaving, yet they have not received the recognition they warrant. In light of global challenges, it is crucial to prioritize skill development, reskilling, and upskilling. Skills Expo 2026 aims to raise awareness of the need to prepare for future challenges and lead fulfilling lives in Sri Lanka,” he remarked.
XpressJobs first participated in the Skills Expo in 2024 as the Official Local Recruitment Partner, returning in 2025 and now for the third year running. Although the leading Skills Council may change annually, the focus on connecting education, skills, industry, and employment remains consistent. This year’s Expo is organized with the Agriculture Sector Skills Council and supported by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, industry councils, and TVEC.
The Expo was officially launched in July with the involvement of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and is backed by several sponsors, including NIBM – The City University as the Title Sponsor, ESOFT as the Platinum Sponsor, Toyota Lanka as the Gold Sponsor, and VTA as the Silver Sponsor.
The event will serve as a national forum to navigate skills development, education, and career trajectories, with XpressJobs facilitating connections to genuine employment opportunities throughout Sri Lanka.
