Ceylinco Life Celebrates 25 Years of Pranama Scholarships

Ceylinco Life has officially launched the 25th edition of its esteemed Pranama Scholarships programme, underscoring the company’s enduring dedication to honoring and incentivizing excellence among the children of its policyholders.

For the 2026 programme, Ceylinco Life will distribute scholarships with a total value of Rs. 22.7 million, continuing an initiative that has been consistently carried out for 25 years. Since its inception, the Pranama Scholarships have benefited 3,466 students nationwide, reflecting a total investment of Rs. 240 million to foster academic success and exceptional performance in sports, arts, and other extracurricular activities.

The 2026 programme will recognize outstanding students across four categories, addressing academic achievements and merit-based national accolades. Scholarships will be conferred to students who excel in the 2025 Year 5 Scholarship Examination, the 2024 GCE Ordinary Level Examination, and the 2024 GCE Advanced Level Examination. Additionally, students who attain national or international recognition in 2024-25 in areas such as sports, drama, invention, and creative fields will be honored.

In the Year 5 Scholarship Examination category, 25 scholarships will be given, with each district’s top-performing Ceylinco Life policyholder’s child receiving a scholarship valued at Rs 240,000, disbursed over five years. Another 25 scholarships, each worth Rs 168,000 and payable over two years, will be awarded to the highest achievers in each district at the GCE Ordinary Level Examination.

The GCE Advanced Level category will acknowledge 100 students, with four scholarships per district. The highest achiever in each stream, determined by the Z-score, will receive a one-time scholarship of Rs 120,000. Additionally, 10 National Merit Awards, each valued at Rs 50,000, will be awarded to students who have shown exceptional achievement at the national or international level in sports, drama, invention, or creative disciplines.

Applications for the 2026 Pranama Scholarships are currently open, inviting eligible policyholders to apply on behalf of their children by 30th April 2026. The scholarship awards ceremony is slated for October 2026.

Through the Pranama Scholarships, Ceylinco Life aims to alleviate the financial challenges of education while inspiring young Sri Lankans to pursue excellence and achieve their full potential, reinforcing the company’s philosophy of supporting families beyond mere financial protection.
