Ceylinco Life Dominates Life Insurance Market for 22nd Consecutive Year, Achieving Rs. 44.18 Billion in Premium Income

Ceylinco Life has solidified its position as the market leader in Sri Lanka’s life insurance industry for the 22nd consecutive year. For the year ending December 31, 2025, the company posted gross written premium income of Rs. 44.18 billion, marking a robust growth of 18.96%.

For the 12-month period, Ceylinco Life reported a consolidated income of Rs. 72.43 billion, which represents a 10.51% increase. Investment and other income contributed Rs. 28.25 billion to the topline.

The company enhanced the value of its Life Fund by 11.56%, surpassing the Rs. 200 billion milestone to reach Rs. 201.81 billion as of December 31, 2025. Additionally, its investment portfolio grew by 13.9% to Rs. 253.43 billion, reaffirming the company’s financial strength and stability.

Renganathan. “Our focus on our core mission of de-risking the lives of our policyholders with gimmick-free life insurance products and our proven empathy for the evolving needs of our policyholders remain the cornerstones of our success. This is well supported by prudent and farsighted investment management, creating an unbeatable combination.”

In 2025, Ceylinco Life disbursed Rs. 31.07 billion in net claims and benefits to policyholders, an increase of Rs. 6 billion or 24% from the previous year, and transferred Rs. 20.68 billion to its Life Fund. The total assets of the company grew by Rs. 35.58 billion or 14.15% over the year, averaging a monthly increase of more than Rs. 2.9 billion, to reach Rs. 287.02 billion at the end of 2025.

The company transferred Rs. 3.5 billion as profit to the shareholders’ fund for the year, with shareholders’ equity growing to Rs. 67.8 billion by year-end. Ceylinco Life reported a profit before tax of Rs. 11.21 billion, reflecting an increase of 11.5% over 2024, and a net profit after tax of Rs. 7.85 billion, an improvement of 10.97%.

The basic earnings per share for the year were Rs. 156.94, while the net asset value per share stood at Rs. 1,357.20 as of December 31, 2025. The return on assets for the year was 2.73%, and the return on equity was 11.56%.

Recognized as the Best Life Insurer in Sri Lanka by World Finance for the 12th consecutive year in 2025, Ceylinco Life continues to offer innovative insurance solutions that protect and de-risk the ambitions of policyholders. In 2025, the company was ranked as the most valuable insurance brand in Sri Lanka and the 22nd most valuable brand overall by Brand Finance. It was also voted the People’s Life Insurance Service Provider of the Year for the 19th consecutive year, reaffirming its position as a brand trusted by millions.

Additionally, Ceylinco Life has been adjudged Sri Lanka’s Brand of the Year twice in the past five years and has been recognized among the 10 Most Admired Companies in Sri Lanka by the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (ICCSL) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
