MP Ramanathan Archchuna arrested

Jaffna District MP Ramanathan Archchuna has been arrested after surrendering to the Fort Police Station today. 

His arrest comes after the Colombo Magistrate’s Court issued a warrant against him due to his failure to appear in court.

MP Archchuna had failed to appear in court yesterday in connection with a case related to exerting influence on a police officer on duty.

The MP is accused of having interfered with the duties of a Colombo Police officer.
