The delegation included officials from the program as well as representatives from Mooney Group LLC, who demonstrated a keen interest in investing in Sri Lanka’s graphite sector. They also expressed a commitment to supporting its development by providing technical expertise and access to global markets.

Ambassador Samarasinghe emphasized Sri Lanka’s dedication to facilitating foreign direct investment that encourages value-added production. He highlighted that collaboration in areas such as technology, safety, and environmental standards would not only fortify bilateral economic relations but also enhance Sri Lanka’s position within the global critical minerals supply chain.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chief of Mission Maduka Wickramarachchi, Minister (Commercial) Nalinda Wijerathne, and Defence Adviser Dumindu Abeywickrama.
